An Immediate opening for a Chief Pilot for a part 135/91 operator., a part 135/91, ARGUS Platinum and IS-BAO Stage III rated operator with locations in Southern California, New Jersey, New York, Delaware and South Florida. The Chief Pilot has responsibility for supervising all activities of the flight department, both in the air and on the ground, and may assist and oversee duties of operational control when delegated by the Director of Operations for safe and legal operations conducted by the Company and its employees. Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the items listed in the job requirements.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operates company aircraft in a safe and efficient manner, while ensuring total compliance with all government rules and regulations, manufacturers’ limitations and manuals, and to the Safety Management System
Coordinates flight operations and scheduling with Dispatch, Charter Sales and Manager of Flight Operations and Training
Ensures all proper pre-flight inspections and preparations have been performed prior to takeoff, including, but not limited to, those related to the aircraft he/she may be flying on and other equipment, airport and runway suitability, requisite documentation and publications (for domestic and international customs, airport authorities, regulatory agencies, etc.), fuel, passenger services items, weather conditions enroute and at the destination(s), permits, aircraft maintenance services and storage, etc.
Coordinates and reconciles maintenance scheduling with the maintenance department and charter sales in order to avoid conflicts (to the highest degree possible), ensuring maximum uptime and availability
Confirms that all embarked persons (both crew and passengers) possess valid and current passports, visas, and/or official documents of U.S.A. resident status (“green cards,” when applicable) that are appropriate for the flight and takeoff/landing jurisdiction
Completes and submits all requisite reports to operations, accounting and maintenance departments in an accurate and timely mannerMaintain currency and training on a company aircraft type as required for Part 135
Ensuring that all flight crew are certified and supervised according to the requirements specified in the Federal Aviation Regulations
Coordinates contract pilots, as necessary, and helps performs first line review and approval of all associated scheduling, costs, and expenses, while observing company specific guidelines

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience managing a comparable Flight Department and related staffFlexibility with schedule, in line with the demands of the position

College degree or equivalent experience
5 or more years of aviation experience
FAA Airline Transport Pilot certificate with appropriate type rating, endorsed as English Proficient
Valid FAA First Class Medical Certificate
FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit
Qualified as PIC within a previous position held for at least three years, preferably in an aircraft type managed by (Gulfstream, Global, Hawker, Citation Legacy, Falcon)
8,000 hours total flight time, 2,500 hours PIC, and 2,000 hours in jet aircraft preferred
Successful completion of flight, ground, and simulator training in the previous 24 months preferred
Expert skills in decision-making and building partnerships internally and externally
Effective communication skills and the ability to communicate and build cross-functional relationships while working with all levels of personnel and effectively interacting with senior executives and company management
Fine business and personal judgment, including the ability to anticipate and manage the impact and of decisions and initiatives
Ability to drive continuous improvement activities to exceed customerexpectations and help promote a professional organization
Must pass a 10-year background and PRIA check
