The Second in Command is so designated as the SIC for a flight or series of flights in accordance to the principals and procedures as required by FAR Part 135. The SIC is responsible for the safe execution of flight duties to which he or she is assigned.
The SIC will support the PIC in their final authority in the operation of the aircraft and exercises Operational Control on the Tier 2 level as described in Chapter 5 of the General Operations Manual.
The SIC must meet minimum qualifications as specified by Federal Aviation Regulation Part 135.245.

Must hold, or be able to attain, HS-125-800 PIC Type Rating
Hold, or be eligible to hold, an FAA ATP certificate
