Essential Functions:
Instruction & Curriculum Delivery:
-Teach weekly ground school sessions (approx. 14-week program, 1 hour 20 minutes per week).
-Provide engaging lectures, discussions, and problem-solving exercises using FAA handbooks, Airman.
-Certification Standards (ACS), and applicable regulations.
-Ensure all core knowledge areas for the FAA Private Pilot Airplane Knowledge Exam are covered, including:
-Aerodynamics and aircraft systems
-Flight instruments and performance
-Meteorology and weather services
-Navigation and flight planning
-Airspace, regulations, and procedures

Prerequisite Qualifications:
-FAA Certified Flight Instructor (Airplane) with current CFI certificate in good standing.
-In-depth knowledge of FAA Private Pilot Airplane Airman Certification Standards (ACS) and Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs).
-Strong teaching, presentation, and communication skills.
-Commitment to fostering a safe, professional, and supportive learning environment.
-At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
Work Schedule
-Fall 2025 Semester: One evening per week (1 hour 20 minutes per session) for 14 weeks.
-Potential for renewal in Spring/Summer terms based on student demand.
Preferred Qualifications:
-FAA Advanced or Instrument Ground Instructor (AGI/IGI) certification.
-Prior experience teaching aviation ground school at a Part 61/141 flight school, university, or community program.
