The Second-in-Command assists the PIC in operation of aircraft on trips as assigned by flight operations management, and assumes the role of PIC should the Captain become incapacitated.

Minimum Requirements

RequirementsRequired Qualifications
FAA Airline Transport OR Commercial Pilot Certificate with Airplane Multi Engine Land and Instrument - Airplane ratings and English Proficiency endorsement,Minimum of 1000 hours
Minimum of 500 hours Pilot-in-command
Minimum of 250 Hours in a Multi-Engine Airplane
Turbine/Turbojet time preferred
Current FAA second class medical certificate
US citizenship or proof of right to work in the US for any employer
Current US passport
Have no international travel restrictions
