Ability to carry and operate firearms. Firearms are required as standard aircraft emergency survival gear primarily for bear encounters/safety.
Single-engine commercial pilot certificate, instrument pilot rating, single-engine sea rating.
A total of 1,500 hours flying aircraft, including 500 hours as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) fixed-wing aircraft and 250 hours of tailwheel experience.
Of this required flight time, 250 hours as PIC must be Alaska time (100 hours of which were logged within the 18 months prior to employment).

Minimum QualificationsCurrent FAA Licensure and class of Medical Certification as a Commercial Pilot or Airline Transport Pilot with ratings, including operating under instrument flight rules, appropriate to the category, class, and type of aircraft flown and directed by the position;
AND
Applicable hours as PIC of appropriate category and class of aircraft predominantly flown and directed by the position that includes 100 minimum hours of flight time in Alaska within the previous 18 months.
