Job Description

Reporting directly to the Chief Flight Instructor, this position is designed to aid the department with providing leadership of the department at the Eastman airport.
The Assistant Chief will perform the duties and responsibilities of the Chief Instructor when required.
The position is Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approved and will represent the school according to FAA standards.
This position is in charge of stage check and flight instructors.
The Assistant Chief will also be instructing senior students toward their FAA certificates and ratings.

Minimum Requirements

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Experience
Minimum of two years of instructing experience.
Experience with managing social media sites (e.g. Facebook and Instagram).
Other Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of university and school policies and procedures.
Knowledge of Banner/Swords, MyDegree and Peoplesoft.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook).
Knowledge of admission, registration and degree program requirements.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Knowledge of computer and job-related software programs.
Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures
Skill in decision-making and problem solving.
Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public.
Skill in prioritizing and organization of workload.
Skill in the use of such office equipment, scanner, fax machine and copier.
Attention to detail involving FAA regulations.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
