Develops and promulgates flight operation procedures and methods, in accordance with all regulatory requirements and Company policies and objectives in a matter consistent with the principles of SMS, efficiency, and customer satisfaction
Monitors and investigates all forms of operational feedback: FOQA data, Incidents Reports, Captain’s Flight Report Remarks, verbal reports, etc.Conducts a continual review and analysis of flight operation methods, procedures, and standard practices
Affects continual improvement of flight operation activitiesDirectly responsible for the standardization of all pilots. Responsible for cross-fleet standardization
Directly supervises Fleet Captains and fleet Technical ManagersParticipates in the selection of all pilots assigned to duty as Check PilotsMaintains supervision of all Check Pilots
Proposes improvements to the content of all pilot training courses
Assists with selection, training, management and supervision of all pilots in accordance with company personnel policies and the Pilots’ Collective Bargaining Agreement
Assists with hiring pilots
Member of Company Aircraft Accident Investigation Team
Assumes the duties of Director of Operations as delegated in the absence of the Director of Operations
Assumes Operational Control as delegated on behalf of the Vice President of Flight Operations
Proposes contract material and ensures compliance with existing contact provisions
Has the authority to conduct disciplinary hearing on behalf of the Vice President of Operations as delegated in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement
Submits annual budget recommendations to the Vice President of Flight Operations.
Assigns work to appropriate organizational elements and assures adherence to plans and budget.
When requirements change materially, recommends necessary changes in the budget and plans
