KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the operation and safety of the aircraft.
Have the authority to reject an aircraft prior to departure of a flight if dissatisfied with any aspect of the airworthiness and/or maintenance of the aircraft.Ensures the flight is conducted safely and efficiently and in compliance with all relevant legislations and requirements.
Operate an aircraft as rostered.
Ensure that flight is directed securely within requirements as detailed by Flight Operations Manual Suite.
Ensure that flight can be made safely, considering the latest information.
Taking reasonable steps to ensure the aircraft is worthy and its equipment is serviceable and that the aircraft is operating in accordance with the requirements of the MEL.
Take all reasonable steps to ensure the minimum crew are fit for duty and familiar with emergency procedures and safety equipment.
Ensure the aircraft is not flown unless the correct type of fuel, oil, hydraulic fluid and oxygen is loaded in sufficient quantities for the unplanned flight.
Ensure the aircraft is loaded within structural and performance limits.
Ensure all passengers are adequately briefed as to the location of emergency exits and the use of safety equipment.
Take all reasonable steps to ensure the aircraft's performance requirements and take-off and landing data meet all safety and legislative requirements.
Ensure all required manuals and documents are on board.
Ensure a continuous communication at all times during the flight.
Ensure correct completion of all documentation.
Advise as appropriate to the Fleet Captain DHC6 or Fleet Captain and Training Manager DHC6 of any non-routine event, incident or accident.
Ensure recorded data is not erased after a flight involving an accident or incident.Ensure checklists are complied with for all phases of flight.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
To be successful in the role you must have a valid Commercial Pilot Licence (or higher)
Current Medical Class One
Have Multi-Engine Instrument Rating
Type Rating DHC6
Valid Frozen ATPL
1500 Hours Flight Time including
250 hours Flight Time as Pilot in Command
750 hours ME RPT turboprop/turbofan experience
5 hours night time
