Duties & Responsibilities
The Chief Pilot will be responsible for upholding the professional and safe operating
standards of fixed wing flight crew department and in particular for:(a) developing standard operating procedures;
(b) in conjunction with the DFO, maintaining appropriate staffing levels throughidentification and hiring of qualified personnel;
(c) developing and implementing all required approved training programs forfixed wing flight crews;
(d) issuing directives and notices to the flight crews as required;
(e) the operational suitability and requirements of all aerodromes and routes served
(f) the actioning and distribution of accident, incident, and other occurrencereports;
(g) the monitoring and maintenance of flight crew training, licensing and crewrecords;
(h) the supervision of flight crews;

Qualifications
The Chief Pilot shall:
• Be entitled to work and reside in Canada
• hold an Airline Transport Pilot Licence (Aeroplane) with a valid instrument ratingfor an aeroplane subject to the 704.01(b) subpart;
• have at least 3 years’ experience as pilot-in-command of a turbo-jet poweredaeroplane;
• be qualified in accordance with the training program and able to act as pilotin-command on the Learjet 31A;
• demonstrate knowledge in Transport Canada’s Civil Aviation Regulations withrespect to the content of the Company Check Pilot Manual, as applicable, theCompany Operations Manual, the provisions of the regulations, standards andflight operating procedures necessary to carry out the duties and responsibilitiesto ensure safety;
• the Chief Pilot’s personal record in relation to aviation shall not include:
(i) any conviction under subsection 7.3(1) of the Aeronautics Act; or
(ii) two or more convictions, occurring during separate unrelated events, underthe Canadian Aviation Regulations.
• An asset to be type rated on the Pilatus PC12 or Learjet 31A;
