PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operate company aircraft in compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR’s),aircraft manufacturer guidance, performance data, published limitations, and Flight Department policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).Conduct pre-flight inspection per Flight Department policy.
Evaluate current and forecast weather conditions for departures, enroute, arrival, and alternate airports.Determine required fuel.
Verify aircraft airworthiness.
Ensure the aircraft is clean and stocked with provisions.
Ensure flight plans are filed in accordance with FAA and Flight Department policies.
Coordinate with passengers and exercise Operational Control over Company Trips as conditions dictate.
Although duties may be specifically assigned to the SIC, the PIC retains the ultimate responsibility.
Maintain a high level of proficiency in the aircraft(s) assigned.
Ensure that all required pilot certificates are current before exercising privileges.Log and submit accurate aircraft flight records and expenses.
Keep abreast of the latest developments in the business aviation field.
Assist the Chief Pilot in the evaluation and improvement of Flight Department Policies and SOP’s.
Coordinate with the Chief of Maintenance or their designee when away from homebase to ensure the airworthiness of aircraft, accomplishment of required maintenance, and appropriate record keeping.
If necessary, arrange for passenger catering.
Ensure passengers have received a required safety briefing.
