Job Description

As a professional helicopter pilot in the air rescue service, you and your crew will fly to the deployment site to pick up the patient after initial medical care and take them to the clinic for further treatment.
Depending on your experience profile and previous training, you will be deployed as a PICUS or commander in flight service.
As part of your job, you will support the ATO (Approved Training Organizations EASA) or take on special operational tasks such as PICUS instructors, flight safety managers, etc.

Minimum Requirements

You are in possession of a valid EASA Part FCL license for commercial helicopter pilots (ATPL-H) or commercial helicopter pilots (CPL-H) and theoretical ATPL-H knowledge -ATPL-H credits.
Ideally, you have a type rating for the types EC 135/635 or EC145 (BK117) and MCC training.
Since you will communicate a lot with other people in this position, your knowledge of German at C2 or language proficiency level 4 is an essential part of your job.
For deployment as a commander, you have at least 1000 flight hours and, as the pilot in command, at least 500 hours of experience in the air rescue service or in a comparable mission profile. You need 500 hours of total flight experience on helicopters to work as a co-pilot (PICUS).
Your qualifications will be confirmed by a positive recommendation from the expert committee as part of the suitability selection process at DLR in Hamburg.
